EDMONTON – The Building Trades of Alberta Charitable Foundation will donate $50,000 to Hope Centres across the province today to help the non-profit organizations provide food, shelter, care and more to those who need it most.
“The work Hope Centres do in communities around the province is vital to ensuring Alberta’s most vulnerable get the supports they need,” said Building Trades of Alberta Executive Director, Terry Parker.
“The labour movement is rooted in social justice and helping those less fortunate. The Building Trades of Alberta Charitable Foundation is proud to support the efforts of organizations like Hope Centres that help improve the well-being of thousands, every day.
“I encourage those who can to support Hope Centres in their community by donating, volunteering or in any way they’re able,” said Parker. “The help you give may change, or save, a life.”
The Building Trades of Alberta Charitable Foundation began in 1991 and has raised over $7.6 million for more than 70 non-profit organizations across Alberta.
The Building Trades of Alberta advocates for 16 Alberta trade unions whose 75,000 members work in the residential, commercial and industrial construction, maintenance and fabrication industries.
