For the past two years the Building Trades of Alberta Charitable Foundation has sponsored the “Steps for Life” Walk, in support of Threads of Life, in Edmonton.

Threads of Life is an organization that supports those who have been affected by a life-altering workplace injury, a fatality or are living with an occupational disease. Threads of Life offers Family Forums across Canada where those who have been left behind can connect with other families suffering from a similar loss. They also offer a Speakers Bureau which offers trained volunteer speakers who speak about their own experiences living with a work related injury or disease or about the loss of loved one. Volunteer Family Guides are also available to mentor newly affected families and individuals. This year’s “Steps for Life” Walk in Edmonton raised almost $33,000 for Threads of Life.
